Passing of Phyllis Lei Furumoto- Lineage Bearer of the Usui Shiki Ryoho

Subject: Passing of Phyllis Lei Furumoto

Dear The Reiki Alliance colleagues round the world,
The Board has received confirmation that Phyllis Lei Furumoto, Lineage Bearer of Usui Shiki Ryoho, in the spiritual lineage of Usui, Hayashi, Takata, and Furumoto, died March 31 in the presence of family and other loved ones.

We acknowledge the gift of her life and presence as Lineage Bearer over the years since Hawayo Takata’s death in 1980. This was a calling which she accepted for all people who practiced Usui Shiki Ryoho, and which was of particular significance for members of The Reiki Alliance which formed to support and recognize her as Hawayo Takata’s successor.

She touched many lives, and held a place dear to the hearts of many people who had taken the Reiki practice all over the world. Her dedication to the practice, her perceptiveness and insight into the practice were truly remarkable. She will be greatly missed.

The Board of the Reiki Alliance
